I Started training with Dave at Dartford MMA over a year ago straight after leaving the army after 6 years. What Dave teaches his students goes way beyond the world of martial arts. Weather you want to keep fit or go for top level competition in MMA dartford MMA covers all aspects. Theres no egos at dartford MMA just like minded people who enjoy martial arts. Since being at Dartford MMA ive have lost over 2 stone ( not that i had a weight problem haha) but the program is structured by dave so it is physically and mentally rewarding that you see and feel your progression. The world of martial arts is getting bigger each day with the growing popularity of MMA and brazilion jiu jit su and its only going to get bigger so nows the time to get to dartford MMA and share the great expirience i share week in week out. Great instructor and friend Dave Birkett and the accadamey and students speak for itself!!! Mike

I recently joined the Dartford MMA last july and have since then enjoyed every minute of it. Not only do I train and learn at the Dartford MMA, but I also socialize and enjoy myself. An important factor that improves the quality of training and mental health. The training environment is safe and monitored at all times by either the instructor, Dave, or other experienced Martial Artists. Dave teaches with respect, understanding and a determination to see that everyone both learns and has fun. He sees to it that everyone understands the material and finds time to constructively criticize and assist people in their training. Dave is not only an excellent instructor, but also a great friend, whose eager dog makes me laugh at the mere thought. The Dartford MMA is a place definitely worth checking out. My gratitude and respect to everyone at the Dartford MMA, Niall O'Grady

I've been a martial artist for 10 years, but the past 4 years training with Dave Birket, owner and operator of Dartford MMA, has been eye-opening and increased my fitness and abilities tremendously. The club has a great atmosphere and is welcoming to men, women and kids. I think that the centrality of the junior's programme (for ages 6-15) gives the Academy a uniquely 'family' atmosphere and keeps everyone grounded; gives the place a really friendly and nurturing vibe. As a female martial artist I've been welcomed with open arms and students and instructors alike have a great respect for female players. The training is physically and mentally challenging and Dave is a consumate martial artist with a great eye for detail. He works to share his love of the technique of all the arts he teaches, from BJJ and MMA to kick boxing, with his students. The BJJ team is strong and we are associated with Marc Walder/Mauricio Gomes/Gracie Barra. Last year I did my first two BJJ competitions and took gold at SENI and silver at the Kent Open; wild experiences that I wouldn't have gone for without Dartford MMA's encouragement and support. Dave makes sure that we work hard and fill gaps in our game before competition time and he's always on the sidelines urging us on. The Academy also has a fierce Filipino stick team, and we won medals in men's and women's division's at the British and World escrima championships in 2008. What can I say, Dave is the most professional and nurturing martial arts instructor I've ever had and his love for the arts and his students sets a great tone for training. Heck, I travel by train from London to Dartford several times a week to train with Dartford MMA, and that says it all. The place is just fabulous!
